The Heroes Brew Fest is taking place Saturday, July 20 from 1PM – 4PM at the Embarcadero Marina Park North (near the Hyatt and Seaport Village). The event will have dozens of craft breweries, live music on a 100% solar-powered stage, a costume crusader contest with prizes, and power-packed food trucks. The event also benefits the San Diego Coastkeeper.
General admission tickets are $40 and include a 4oz tasting mug and 20 tasting tickets. VIP admission is $60 and includes unlimited special selection tasters from each brewer that are not available during the GA portion of the event. VIPs also get access to the VIP lounge area with unlimited tastings of VIP area sponsored craft beer. There is also a $20 designated driver ticket for those who just want to experience the music performances.

We Put The Spring In Springfield: The Music of The Simpsons is a musical revue of 69 songs from America’s favorite, non-prehistoric, animated family. In the 50 minute show, four performers will tackle the music from the most successful animated series of all time, playing all your favorites from Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z: “Monorail”, “Baby On Board”, “Oh Streetcar!”, “Dr. Zaius”, “Children Are Our Future”… and 64 more songs!
There will be two shows held Saturday of Comic-Con at the C3 Performing Arts Center in Mission Valley, just a 10-15 minute drive from downtown. You could even take one of the free Comic-Con hotel shuttles to Hotel Circle (red or purple shuttle line) and then it’s a quick cab ride to the performance venue.

FOX Broadcasting is taking over a parking lot at 450 2nd Ave., next to where the History Channel will have its Vikings Interactive Waterway.
FOX will be installing a mini-golf course, 3-D printing stations, and a movie/TV screening area holding 250 chairs. Just what they will be showing there remains to be seen! A local pizza truck will also provide food and there will be tables set up. The FOX lot will be open Thursday through Saturday, 12-8pm.
[UPDATE] it is FOX Animation Domination with Axe Cop and High School USA per their Facebook Page.
Fandango is rebranding a store at 226 5th Ave and turning it to a 30s-style movie theater lobby. There will be a concession stand with prize giveaways, and photo and video booths where you can re-enact your favorite movie scenes. The Fandango Experience will be open Thursday, 12-6pm, Friday & Saturday, 10am-6pm, and Sunday 10am-5pm.
Disney Interactive is taking over a store (a salon, in fact) at 343 4th Ave. to promote Disney INFINITY, the video game to be released in August. The store will have private an public events demonstrating the game, and Disney music and decor. The Disney Interactive site will be open Wednesday-Thursday, 8am-11pm (private events) & Friday-Saturday, 6pm-10pm (open to all).
Already known, but we’ve gotten a better picture of the Petco Park Interactive Zone: The zone will feature the Hello Kitty Music Wonderland interactive experience and pop-up shop, the Adult Swim funhouse, The Smurfs (making a repeat appearance), Fear.Net and Walking Dead Escape booths, a 5-hour Energy drink display, and several food trucks, including the Elder Scrolls Online Truck (Thursday only). A large DC Comics exhibit will be there all weekend, and will also have Jim Lee creating the final Kia Sorento car art on Wednesday at 2PM, to complete the Justice League custom cars.
Last but not least, it has been confirmed that NBC will once again be taking over the Tin Fish, and SyFy will bring back their Defiance Cafe at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Psych the Musical
Wednesday, July 17th at the Reading Cinemas Gaslamp (701 5th Ave.)
Doors open at 10pm, Screening starts at midnight. Register for your ticket, although a ticket doesn't guarantee entry.

Black Sails Sneak Screening
8:30pm on Thursday, July 18, also at the Reading Cinemas (701 5th Ave.) An early screening of Black Sails premiere that will air on Starz in January of 2014. The first 200 people in line get a wristband to attend the after-party. RSVP Required
Adult Swim Funhouse
...will be located in the parking lot next to Petco Park (near the pedestrian bridge to the Hilton Bayfront). It will be open Thursday - Saturday from 5-10pm. Tickets for entry will be given out starting at 4pm. A test run of the funhouse was done in Georgia earlier this year and the Rancho Cocoa blog has details and more photos. The funhouse will be an 18+ event.
The GameSpot & CNET BaseStation has put up their RSVP link: Click Here. They are once again at Lou & Mickey's restaurant, right outside the convention center on 5th. There will be lots of giveaways, trivia contests, free food, charging stations -- its just a great place to kick-back and take a break from the con-mania.

The San Diego Blood Bank donation center will be inside the Omni Hotel this year (675 L Street), in their Grand Ballroom. You can make an appointment in advance, or walk-up during the convention. They will be drawing blood from 9AM to 6PM, Thurs - Sat and to 3PM on Sunday. In past year's they have had some cool giveaways for donors, including True Blood swag.

MTV's Party in the Park
The Teen Wolf cast will join the cast of MTV2's Guy Code at Petco Park on Thursday, July 18 at 7pm. The Party in the Park will feature live performances, free food and drinks, along with the taping of "Guy Code Honors," a television special which will premiere on MTV and MTV2 Sunday, July 21. Performers are still TBA. The event is free, but you will need a Comic-Con badge to enter.
