House of the Dragon: The Dragon’s Den – Outside Hilton Gaslamp (401 K St)
The immersive fan experience for the upcoming House of the Dragon will guide guests through a ceremonial dragon hatching experience. Walk in the Targaryen’s footsteps, and be immersed in the sights and sounds of King’s Landing, interacting with people of the city (Shame!). Select your own dragon egg, and demonstrate that you are worthy of being bound to a dragon. Be guided by a Dragon-keeper through seven phases, going through special interactions, and sound sensory elements that will be powered by Bose.
Abbott Elementary “New Teacher Dis-Orientation” Experience – Hilton Bayfront (1 Park Blvd), on the Bay side
Walk the halls of Abbott Elementary outside the Hilton Bayfront hotel, and earn your very own staff credential via experiential set recreations. Channel your inner Principal Ava by striking a pose behind her official desk, or pay a visit to Janine’s classroom for the opportunity to contribute to real teachers in need through curated Scholastic ClassroomsCount™ wish lists. The “New Teacher Dis-Orientation” activation will also feature original art submitted by fans via the official “Abbott Elementary” Fan Art Contest, in addition to screenings of fan-favorite episodes, live performances and more. Comic-Con Art Show – Manchester Grand Hyatt, Lobby Level
The Comic-Con Art Show is open to the public… you do not need a badge to come in and enjoy, or purchase artwork. You’ll find an eclectic and beautiful selection of items in Comic-Con’s Art Show. You’ll see numerous original drawings, paintings, sculptures, and pieces of jewelry -or even more unusual items, all created and displayed by professional and amateur artists. The Art Show also displays the nominated books and comics for this year’s Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. Come and see the best new works of the year! The art show is open 9am to 9pm, Thursday and Friday, and 9am to 6pm on Saturday.
Comic-Con Blood Drive – Hyatt Hotel (1 Market Place), Coronado Ballroom
Harness the hero in you at the 46th Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive running Wednesday through Sunday in the Grand Hyatt,. Coronado Ballroom. Donors receive a Marvel Thor: Love & Thunder shirt while supplies last. No badge required. Make an appointment in advance for quick entry, or walk-ins are also welcome. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing, The Exhibition – Comic-Con Museum (2131 Pan American Plaza)
The Comic-Con Museum has teamed up with Marvel Entertainment and Semmel Exhibitions to host the one-of-a-kind Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition which premiered earlier this month and will be open through the end of the year. Tickets are $30 for adults, and also include access to their Rocketeer, Pac-Man, and Archie exhibits. Get tickets on Fever.
Comic Conference for Educators and Librarians – San Diego Central Library (330 Park Blvd.)
Attend this free, five-day conference, which will explore the role comics play in promoting education and literacy for all ages. Space is limited; registration is required. No SDCC badge needed. Get the full schedule on the CCEL page.
FX Offsite – Hilton Bayfront Lawn
Join FX in San Diego this year and descend into the underworld of American Horror Stories, What We Do in the Shadows, and Little Demon through an immersive experience filled with secrets, scares, and surprising giveaways. #FXSDCC will be live at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront lawn from Thursday, 7/21 – Sunday, 7/24.
Cosplay Repair Station at the San Diego Central Library (330 Park Blvd), 4th Floor
Are you cosplaying during San Diego Comic-Con? Need a cosplay repair? Don’t despair! Swing by the Central IDEA Lab on the 4th floor of the Central Library for quick fix solutions to your cosplay woes. The repair station will be open Thursday through Saturday, 10AM – 4PM. No appointment necessary, all ages welcome!
Available equipment and material (while supplies last) to help mend your costume include sewing machines, supplies (needles, thread, seam rippers, scissors, safety pins, etc.), different types of glue, and variety of tape!

Peanuts “All Things Armstong” Pop-Up Exhibit – 200 J. Street
The Peanuts pop-up event this year celebrates Franklin with “All Things Armstrong.” The shop at 200 J St. will include a special exhibition by the Charles M. Schulz Museum that explores the significance of Franklin Armstrong and the character’s history. Exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase.

6:30pm – Comic-Con Museum Gala Event
The Comic-Con Museum will honor the world’s favorite web-slinging Super Hero as the fourth inductee into its Museum Character Hall of Fame at “Night at the Comic-Con Museum,” a special gala event that will take place on Comic-Con’s Preview Night. The event will include the opportunity to experience “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition,” which opened on July 1. In addition to the displays of art, costumes, and interactive experiences in the exhibit, the event will feature live entertainment, special guests, food, and signature cocktails. Tickets for the gala are $250, and more details can be found on the Museum event page.
The museum is also open the rest of the weekend and admission is $30 to Spider-Man and all other exhibits!
8pm – Ready Party One: Love and Thunder – Parq Nightclub (615 Broadway)
Get ready to ragnaROCK at the iconic SDCC Kick-off event, back for its third year. This time, we leave the Oasis and venture to Asgard and beyond, for a celebration of all things love, thunder, and a return to San Diego Comic Con for the first time since 2019! Lineup includes fan favorite flashback band The Flux Capacitors, incredible DJs, and live performances that lean into the theme of the evening. 8:00pm – CBLDF Comic-Con Welcome Party – Westgate Hotel
Join CBLDF (the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund) and their contributing members Thursday night, July 21, for the convention’s most popular comic-focused party. CBLDF will host the party at the Westgate Hotel’s Terrace Under the Stars starting at 8 pm. The welcome party brings together all corners of the comics community, including retailers, publishers, creators, educators, and fans.
The party will have hot and cold hors d’oeuvres for the first 90 minutes and a cash bar through the evening until 12 am. It’s open to the public, with free admission for CBLDF members and all others asked to make a voluntary contribution. Attendees will also get an up-close look at the art to be auctioned Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Ghostbusters fan group will host their annual Crossrip Party at Werewolf, Saturday, July 23, 2022.The Gaslamp will experience a party of biblical proportions to benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Additionally, dozens of prizes will be awarded to guests throughout the night for those who participate in Ghostbusters Trivia and Raffles. The CBLDF Art Auction returns to Comic-Con with art and collectibles from some of comics’ greatest creators. The auction will be held Saturday, July 23, from 8 pm to 10 pm at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront in the Sapphire AB room. The event is free to attend and no SDCC badge is needed. All proceeds will benefit CBLDF’s ongoing battle against the rising tide of censorship in our schools, libraries, and stores.
