From the Fair
DEL MAR, Calif. (June 30, 2025) — The 2025 San Diego County Fair is the place to be on the Fourth of July with a parade, contests, and the annual Fireworks Spectacular, as well as a new indoor, sensory-friendly option.
The Fair is a fun, day-long Fourth of July option for people of all ages and is filled with pageantry and special events.
The Fair day will begin with the singing of the National Anthem at the Fair’s entrance at 10:45 a.m., before gates open to the public. A patriotic parade will follow at 2 p.m. featuring the Del Mar and Solana Beach Fire Departments, Marine Corps Marching Band, San Diego County Sheriff’s K-9 officers, local Lifeguards and Fair entertainers. The parade will also feature a procession of festive food concessionaires who have embellished their own golf carts and decorated their food stands for the July 4th holiday. The parade route stretches from the O’Brien Gate in the Fun Zone to the Avenue of the Palms and east to the Main Gate and down Livestock Way.
Then, the Fair will host a series of patriotic costume contests on the Michelob ULTRA Avenue Stage.
The day will culminate in a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Guests who want the best seat in the house — and to be able to hear the soundtrack — can reserve seats in the Grandstand. The 12-minute energy-infused show will light the night’s sky with traditional bright and bold sparklers.
And through the Fair’s partnership with KultureCity, guests also have the option to enjoy a “Sensory-Friendly” Fireworks Show at 6 p.m. in The Sound. The show is thoughtfully designed for individuals of all ages who experience sensory processing differences, including those with autism, PTSD, or other conditions. This inclusive event offers the joy and wonder of fireworks in a more gentle, comfortable environment.
Due to the holiday, the Fair will not feature Friday promotions such as Kids Day, Foodie Fridays, and Game on Fridays. But the Fair offers numerous other ways to save on admission, parking, food, and more. More information on these value deals can be found here.
